A lady called on my landline claiming to be from Virgin Media technical dept. There have been several attempts to relocate my IP address by fraudsters abroad and this is an urgent call to prevent this from happening. She said she will give me my IP address and wanted me to check if it is correct on my computer. I said OK, I'll call Virgin Media technical dept. and get it sorted. She wasn't happy and insisted that she is from Virgin Media technical dept and there was no need to call them. I insisted on calling them, at which she simply hung up. Earlier a man called from the same company, same reason. Forgot to note down the number.

Claimed to be Virgin. As my area is due to be switched to fibre from copper wire they are using this as an excuse to contact. Knew my name but little else. Would not listen to me nor my requests for authentication, even talking over me, something a legit call centre agent should not do. They informed me the call is being recorded and used leading questions to try and get me to answer standard responses (address, name etc.), these can be used in the future to gain access to the account.

Called me. I missed the call and used call back. She denied calling, was very rude and then hung up. No need to be ignorant.
I was charged Β£18.99 for this call!!! I donβt even know what it was and have no recollection of making it.
Strange, had a call from this number claiming to be from the Financial Services Conduct Authority and an Asian/Indian Girl who said they were investigating a Bit Coin fraud and that I had frozen funds within the trading company. She went on to say that the accounts were frozen due to fraudulent activity and at one point sounded like I could be under investigation or that I had deposited funds with the company under investigation and that these funds were now Frozen. The conversation hinged on the fact that I had lost money through this company? When I asked who the company was she first said this was confidential then she gave me a generic company name and said this company operated numerous companies around trading activity. She hung up and seemed rather frustrated!
